Job#2- Office Administration. Everyone knows what an assistant does so the real question is who is yours? Let me give you a hint. If you “don’t have one” then it is you! Someone must take care of all the “office stuff” like ordering supplies, answering the misc. phone calls, running errands, creating flyers, delivering signage and flyers to listings, picking up lockboxes, following up on showings, etc.
Job#3- Appointment Setter. This job entails making and/or taking calls from potential clients and booking appointments. This is time consuming but necessary to grow the business. Someone has to do it!
Job#4- Real Estate Professional! This is why you got your license and what you learned in real estate school. Here is where you show homes, write & negotiate contracts. This is the fun part and at the same time where you earn your income! Unfortunately, this is probably where you spend the least amount of your time and why you are not making the money you desire.
Job #5- Transaction Coordinator. This job is by far the most time consuming (if you do it right). Obviously this includes everything from opening escrow, setting up inspections, negotiating repairs, overseeing the lenders and title companies, and everything in between to ensure a nice smooth transaction through closing. Quite frankly, most agents do not enjoy this and therefore are terrible at it.
Job #6- Relations Coordinator. Most agents just completely ignore this job. Do you completely ignore your past clients because you just don’t have the time? How much referral and repeat business are you missing out on?
There you have it. Believe me now? Can you handle all 6 full-time jobs even if you wanted to? Absolutely NOT! Most people can handle one and no more then 2 of them. Even at that they are sacrificing their family and personal life to do so.

Having been an agent for numerous years before joining RGR, I had the experience of doing this the traditional way. In all the years before I never got 2 full days of training let alone 2 full weeks. Having someone spend two weeks going over every aspect of what it takes to be a complete salesman (because that is what we are) gives one the tools to really succeed and is a huge advantage.
